Priya Samant, CEO and Co-Founder, Abris Inc & Strategic Advisor on US-India Relations, has been appointed as the Director for the International Day of Women and Girls in Science Assembly by The Women in Science International League, a global program of the Royal Academy of Science International Trust.
Following the adoption of UNGA Resolution A/RES/70/212 on the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, RASIT and its League continues to work with UN Member States, Inter-Governmental Organizations and the United Nations and its entities, to contribute towards the achievement of equality in science, technology, and innovation for socio-economic sustainable development in line with Agenda 2030 and the SDGs.
Under the leadership of HRH Princess Dr. Nisreen El-Hashemite, Executive Director of RASIT, and Ms.Rola Dahlan, Secretary-General of the Women in Science International League, Priya will play a key role in meeting the #February11 Global Movement goals through empowering Women in Science and experts’ role in sustainable development programs.
Priya Samant who also serves on Horasis organizing committee for the US Meeting, is an enthusiastic advocate for social change. A TiE Boston charter member and member of 100women@Davos community, she is a firm believer of using Science and Technology for empowering women and young people. Priya also concludes through cultural diplomacy; the social and cultural divide which can be closed while nurturing humanity and diversity and utilising the potent tools of science and technology for the benefit of all.
