New Delhi: While counting hours till the longest day of the northern hemisphere, and commemorating ‘Yogotsav: A 100 days countdown to International Yoga Day 2023’, MDNIY under Ministry of Ayush has been organising transformative yoga sessions everyday. On the pretext of 70 days to 21st June, MDNIY and Department of Yogic Science and Naturopathy, Mahapurusha Srimanta Sankaradeva Vishwavidyalaya conducted a webinar on ‘Yoga for body and mind’ followed by a rejuvenating session encapsulating Common Yoga Protocol, which was attended by more than 200 enthusiasts including students from various departments of the university, and crowd from the surrounding areas.
The webinar was graced by Hon’ble Chief Guest, Mrs. Pomi Baruah ACS, Director of Ayush, Assam, Guest of Honour, Dr Raghvendra Rao, Prof. Mrinal Kumar Borah, Registrar, MSSV, Dr. S K Sarkar, Dy. Registrar (Admin.), and experts, and eminent speakers from the field.
The dignitaries emphasised on the healing effects of Yoga which can help reduce stress, improve flexibility, and increase strength and endurance. The speakers also enunciated the paramount role of yoga in the overall physical and mental wellness.
