On Thursday, The central government has ordered to ban 67 porn websites. The government has issued this order to Internet companies for violating the new Information Technology (IT) rules issued in 2021. In an email sent to internet companies, the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) asked companies to block 63 websites based on a Pune court order, On the basis of the order of the Uttarakhand High Court and the directions issued by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, four websites have been asked to be blocked.

In the new IT rules implemented by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology in 2021, it has been said that companies cannot show content like porn. Under the new IT rules, it is mandatory for companies to block such content as well. In the order issued by DoT on September 24, read with Rule-3(2)(b) of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Code of Conduct) Rules-2021 (of the Uttarakhand High Court) read with the said order. In compliance and in view of certain obscene material available on the website mentioned below, which outraged the character of women.
Under the new IT rules implemented by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology in 2021, it is mandatory for companies to block access to such materials broadcast, stored or published by them, which shows a person wholly or partially nude, or Denotes indulging in sexual act or conduct. Under the new IT rules, it is mandatory for companies to block such content as well. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has issued an order to block these websites/urls immediately.
